Chapter 301 Scholarship Program
Working in conjunction with EAA National and the Ray Foundation Pilot Scholarship Program, Chapter 301 provides two scholarships each year to selected candidates who are focused on becoming professional pilots working in the airline / aviation industry.
The Ray Foundation Scholarship program administered through the Experimental Aircraft Association provides over $1.3 million per year for students wanting to become pilots. Over 600 students have become pilots under this program. Since 2019, EAA Chapter 301 has provided over $12,000 in funding and mentoring for eight students to become pilots and helped them start their aviation career.
At present, each scholarship is for the amount of $12,000. Seventy five percent ($9,000) is provided by the Ray Foundation and the remaining twenty five percent ($3,000) is provided by EAA Chapter 301.
Chapter 301 has established a scholarship fund to cover the chapter’s share which is $6,000 annually. The money for this fund is acquired through fund raising events and donations from businesses and chapter members.
Applicants for a Ray Foundation Flight Training Scholarship need to be between the ages of 16 and 19, have a student pilot certificate, an FAA Medical certificate and have passed the FAA private written test.
Each year EAA Chapter 301 awards a scholarship to a Denver area youth to attend the EAA Air Academy summer camp program at Oshkosh, WI. This is a week long program designed to introduce students of high school age to many different facets of aviation. For more information, Please go to the link below.
